It’s more than a phenomenon. Facebook has changed the way families connect, businesses engage and challenged us all to consider farming as a career thanks to Farmville. Mark Zuckerberg would have had no idea that the ‘hot or not’ website he created would eventually be responsible for making millionaires out of artists and twenty-somethings. Its hard to believe that there are now over 1 billion users on Facebook and a little over 60% are active daily in some capacity.
Facebook is great opportunity for an organisation to engage with customers, supporters and users. Some see it as another megaphone for ill-conceived marketing messages but the effective Facebook entrepreneur is the one who engages with the community.
