Andrew Pitchford is possibly the most ‘switched on’ person I know. He not only has the ability to keep abreast of what’s going on, particularly in the fast growing ‘digital marketing’ arena, he also has a real talent, a unique ability to make sense of it all. His passion for what is happening in the digital arena and the potential it offers for media people, now has him involved in leading the co-ordination of new media opportunities within our group. He not only picks up very early on internet trends but he actually understands what to do with them, and how to train people in these skills as well. I think I’d put Andrew in the category of guru! His creative, ‘think-outside-the-box’ approach keeps him ahead of the game, and even sometimes, re-writing the game, if that’ll get him and his team the results they needs. Andrew has a keen grasp of emerging technology and the vision for how such technology can be utilised to enhance the work place. He is a great team player while at the same time leading by example. I have always found him to be encouraging of those he is working with, which has always led to a better end result. Andrew is a highly adept communicator and facilitator who will charm, dissarm and engage with the aplomb of a seasoned diplomat. Andrew is a technology futurist – although that is not officially his title! If you want a glimpse on what is going to take place in technology over the next 2 years and what to do about it, Andrew is your man! Andrew is dedicated to the task of keeping up with new media. A challenge and a half, and yet he always is on the case and is always the first person to be approached or referred to when it comes to new media.
